New Features

Version 4.2 SP-2

  • Added explicit compatibility with Windows 10 (all editions) and Office 2016 (32-bit editions).

Version 4.2 SP-2

  • When detecting Microsoft Word or Excel, VisiMap Pro will ignore the Starter editions (as they do not support the automation interfaces needed by VisiMap Pro).
  • Improved detection of mail clients that support Simple MAPI on later versions of Windows.
  • When exporting to HTML, MS Word, MS Outlook or RTF formats, or copying to the clipboard in RTF format, you can now choose whether or not to preserve VisiMap Pro's notes tab settings.
  • Added support for 32-bit Microsoft Office 2013 apps.
  • Improved compatibility with Windows 8: runs fine as a 32-bit desktop application, but does not support Windows 8 mail app or SkyDrive.

Version 4.2 SP-1

  • Formalised support for Windows 7.
  • Added support for export to Office 2010 (32-bit) applications.

Version 4.2

  • Added new 'Lateral graphic' map view.
  • Added Microsoft Excel 2000-2007 export filter.
  • You can now copy & paste Microsoft OneNote hyperlinks from OneNote to VisiMap Pro.
  • A new option has been added (to the program preferences) whereby you can opt for VisiMap Pro to create smart titles for new Outlook item links.

Changed Features

Version 4.2

  • The initial trial period has been increased from 30 to 60 days.

Version 4.1 SP-1

  • The Add Link and Link Properties forms will remember the folder last used for adding a map link.
  • VisiMap Pro is now more resilient to buggy printer drivers that prevent successful startup. If VisiMap Pro freezes on startup because of a faulty driver it will, on restarting, offer the user the option of excluding the affected printer from use. Excluded printers can subsequently be re-enabled via the General Options tree in the Preferences form.

Bug Fixes

Version 4.2 SP-2

  • Adjusted MAPI detection code to avoid display of error message that can sometimes be encountered under later versions of Windows.

Version 4.2 SP-1

  • When exporting to Excel, VisiMap Pro is now more resilient to Excel errors that occur with long map centre titles.
  • The suggested filename is now present in the filename box in Save forms, and the filename extension now changes according to the selected save file type.
  • In the MS Word export filter, fixed exception reported when creating styles that already exist.
  • Fixed issue where pasting a new branch could erroneously add notes constructed from previously processed text.
  • Fixed badly-displayed and looping message box that could occur when changing branch style to a header style via the Properties form.

Version 4.2

  • Installer: fixed registration URLs (following re-hosting of coco.co.uk and visimap.com web sites).
  • Installer: included graphics support file that was missing from earlier builds (fixing Adobe Photoshop PSD export).
Client installer: fixed minor issues in client installer.
  • Improved resilience to Promote command being attempted on top-level branches.
  • VisiMap Pro executable now correctly marked as Terminal Server aware.
  • Fixed writing of error messages log file (broken in 4.1 SP-1).
  • Fixed issue with writing hyperlinks to exported Word documents using patched versions of Word 2007.
  • Eliminated exceptions that could occur when using links in "My Network Places" in file explorers.

  • In MS Word export filter, map links to local branches are now exported as bookmark cross-references.

Version 4.1 SP-1

  • Eliminated possible exception when attempting to import a file.
  • When exporting to Word, rare exception when exporting style colours has been fixed.
  • Fixed issue where, when launching an Outlook item, the item would sometimes display in plain text (rather than HTML) and erroneously appear as a draft message waiting to be sent.
  • In HTML-exported pages, the image map hotspot dimensions for maps in text outline view have been fixed.
  • Spaces in filenames referred to by HTML-exported maps are now handled correctly.
  • The text in the final page of the Web Update wizard has been corrected.
  • Minor fixes to the notes live spell facility.
  • The Web Update feature no longer creates an (empty) updates folder below the main VisiMap Pro installation folder.
