details the changes that are included in VisiMap Professional 4.1 compared with
the previous major release, VisiMap Pro 4.0.
New Features
Changed Features
Bug Fixes
New Features
- Support for Office 2007 (Outlook, PowerPoint,
Project and Word).
- Export to PDF and XPS formats (requires Word 2007 to be
installed).
- Export to single-file HTML archive (MHTML) format.
- Compatibility with Windows Vista.
- Outlook items in maps are now included as embedded
package objects in exported MS Word files.
- When you change the Default Maps folder (via the File
Locations form), you are now asked whether you wish to move maps files in
the old folder to the new.
Changed Features
Version 4.1 SP-1
- The Add Link and Link Properties forms
will remember the folder last used for adding a map link.
- VisiMap Pro is now more resilient to
buggy printer drivers that prevent successful startup. If VisiMap Pro
freezes on startup because of a faulty driver it will, on restarting, offer
the user the option of excluding the affected printer from use. Excluded
printers can subsequently be re-enabled via the General Options tree in the
Preferences form.
Version 4.1
- The icons on net links now reflect the
URL protocol type (such as http or mailto). Previously, all net links bore
the same generic icon.
- Added 'callto' to the protocol
drop-down list on the Add Link and Link Properties forms.
- When launching a net link, the
registered handling application is now invoked directly (previously, all net
links were launched through the default web browser).
- When switching away from VisiMap Pro
to another app and back again, any in-line branch title or link name editor
will remain open whenever possible.
- Changed the way relative paths are
stored for links within maps, to improve the portability of maps between
different computers.
- The PowerPoint export filter will now
allow you to choose from your custom user templates and shared templates as
well as the standard templates installed with PowerPoint. The templates list
in the export configuration form now also shows a 'standard', 'user' or
'shared' indicator for each template.
- Added the "Export map centre notes as
project notes" option to the MS Project export filter's options, to
workaround a bug in some versions of MS Project (see online help for
details).
- When launching multiple copies of
VisiMap Pro in quick succession, the 'licence exceeded' notification no
longer displays.
